Goodwood Revival – 7th to 9th September 2018
Puff attended the Revival meeting at Goodwood again this year. This time invited by Rally Round, the specialist classic and historic car rally planners, to be a part of their stand as Bron and Liz Wenham launched the “Mission to Mexico 2020” – a plan to finally get Puff driving into Mexico City, finishing the journey she started so long ago.
Rally Round had a stand in a prime position opposite the Bonhams’ marquee where the auctions were to take place, with its “car park” full of exotic and incredible classic cars.
Liz Wenman, Rally Round’s founder and CEO, has the expertise, knowledge and skills to get Puff to Mexico in 2020. This is my vision, started from a chance remark prior to the 50th Anniversary for the 1968 London–Sydney Marathon earlier this year. Seeing the few cars there that had survived down the years, it suddenly seemed right that the 1970 World Cup Rally car No.20 (Puff), in the year 2020, should complete the journey she started some 50 years ago.
By the end of the three days, there were already five cars and owners that wanted to accompany Puff on her big adventure. These included two original WCR cars that had started the rally from Wembley Stadium all those long years ago, but had failed to even reach Lisbon.
